About the role
A skilled and detail-oriented Sign Manufacturer Welder is needed to weld metal components for custom signs, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and structural integrity.
Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate metal components for custom signs, including frames, support structures, and decorative elements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design specifications to accurately assemble and weld components.
- Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) and tools, ensuring precision and quality in every weld.
- Measure, cut, grind, and prepare metal materials for welding and assembly.
- Ensure the final product meets company standards for durability, aesthetics, and safety.
- Collaborate with designers and production team to achieve desired results within specified timelines.
- Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment, ensuring safe and proper operation.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of protective equipment and adherence to safety regulations.
- Keep a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and maintained.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder, preferably with experience in metal fabrication for signage.
- Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Ability to work with different metals, such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and fix welding issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in welding or related field.
- Experience working with CNC machines or automated welding systems.
- Previous experience in the sign manufacturing industry.
Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Exposure to various welding gases, noise, and temperatures, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May require overtime during peak production periods.
