What You’ll Do
- Meet with clients to discuss their signage needs and recommend creative solutions.
- Use Adobe Illustrator and FlexiSign to create sign layouts, proofs, and mockups (limited use of Photoshop).
- Receive full training on FlexiSign if you have strong Illustrator skills.
- Prepare quotes and estimates based on client consultations.
- Learn and operate sign production equipment — including large-format printers, vinyl plotters, and laminators.
- Prior experience with equipment is not required; training provided.
- Communicate effectively with fabricators, installers, and team members to ensure project accuracy.
- Assist with shop duties and materials handling (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs).
- May occasionally work at our Washington, DC location as needed (located about 3 miles away).
Who We’re Looking For
- 2–3 years graphic design experience.
- Signage experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Very proficient in Adobe Illustrator (required).
- Strong communication, active listening, and ability to translate client needs into visual concepts.
- Familiarity with FlexiSign preferred — training available.
- Basic understanding of Photoshop for simple edits (not a primary tool).
- Dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to quickly learn how to use the equipment to prepare sign graphics for assembly and fabrication (assembly & fabrication is the responsibility of others).
- Primarily based in Silver Spring, with occasional workdays in our DC location. This is subject to change.
