Shuttle Driver-(York Hospital)

About the Role

As a Shuttle Driver at Towne Park, you’ll transport guests to and from hotels, hospitals, casinos, and local areas in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. You’ll assist guests with luggage, maintain vehicle logs, and ensure safe driving practices. Responsibilities

• Shuttle guests to approved destinations, demonstrating knowledge of property outlets, meeting rooms, local attractions, parking rates, and other key locations (40% of time).
• Communicate courteously and professionally with guests, staff, and coworkers via telephone, two-way radio, and in person. Greet guests within 30 seconds, use their last name when appropriate, and maintain composure under pressure (20% of time).
• Operate vehicles seating up to fifteen people, including inspecting the vehicle at the start of each shift for operational safety (e.g., lights, signals, tires, brakes, heating/cooling). Report malfunctions or damage to management (20% of time).
• Protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Assist patrons with entering/exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs (check for safe operation and clean after each use). May use specialized equipment like wheelchair lifts (20% of time).
• Maintain vehicle activity and maintenance logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a criminal background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, drug screen, and other client-specific requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old (due to vehicle leasing contract requirements).
• Valid driver’s license maintained at all times; must pass annual/semi-annual MVR checks.
• Completion of Towne Park’s Wheelchair Safety Training (as applicable).
• Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate, DOT endorsements (if applicable), and bi-annual physical exam.
• One to three months of related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English, including simple instructions and correspondence.
• Effective communication in one-on-one and small group settings with guests, clients, and employees.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (including operations with American currency).
• Understanding of 24-hour/military time systems and applicable rates (e.g., time-based calculations).
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Majority of work performed outdoors for extended periods, including entire shifts, with exposure to extreme heat and cold.
• Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, or stand for extended periods; may need to run, walk, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Lifting requirements: up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
• Travel up to 5% may be required.
