Pay
$24–$26 per hour
Schedule
- Regular 12-hour shift on a 14-day rotating schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Some work on minor holidays may be expected to match customer work hours
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned commercial motor vehicle in full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws/regulations
- Perform local shuttle of refrigerated and dry trailers/loads between customer locations and company/other facilities
- Communicate all issues related to the condition of company trucks and trailers to designated company staff; do not operate equipment that fails to meet standards
- Complete, maintain, and submit all required paperwork, logbooks, shipping documents, and related records accurately and on schedule
- Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations at all times
- Foster positive, professional relationships with customers, the public, and all InterChange staff through responsible driving and interactions
- Remain flexible and open to a wide range of assignments while on duty
- Perform all duties safely, quickly, and efficiently to avoid unnecessary expense
- Conduct all duties professionally to promote company growth, profitability, and success
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CDL-A with a driving record acceptable to company insurance carrier
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds at shoulder height
- Ability to read and write sufficiently to understand and complete required documentation, shipping forms, road signs, and other written communications
- Ability to safely and repeatedly enter and exit truck cab during the work shift
- Ability to crank landing gear, operate 5th wheel release, connect air/electrical lines repeatedly without difficulty
- Ability to properly secure loads using provided straps and other equipment
- Ability to repeatedly open and close trailer and shipping container doors (weights may vary from 120 to 350 lbs each)
- Pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical required
