Shuttle Driver

Location: Jersey City, NJ. Job Type: Full-time & Part-time. Shifts: Mornings, Evenings, Weekends & Holidays. Pay: $21.00/hour. Requires CDL with passenger endorsement and 3+ years licensed driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive shuttle bus and transport customers to and from the facility.
• Greet passengers and assist with loading and unloading.
• Operate the shuttle bus safely and efficiently; comply with all traffic and safety regulations.
• Monitor vehicle condition; record malfunctions or damage on appropriate forms.
• Communicate with dispatchers, drivers, and other employees via two-way radio to coordinate routes, announce arrivals/delays, coordinate pick-ups, and handle vehicle or customer issues.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure sound operating conditions.
• Monitor traffic and weather conditions; notify dispatch or supervisor of potential problems.
• Report accidents or other safety situations to dispatch or supervisor.
• Treat all customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• CDL (Class A, B, or C) with passenger endorsement.
• DOT medical card.
• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and efficiently.
• Availability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends.
• Energetic, outgoing, and able to stand, walk, run, and carry items up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and resolve customer issues positively.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience.
• 1+ year of experience driving a shuttle bus or commercial vehicle.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Physical demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs.
