About the role
We are seeking a safe, reliable, and customer-oriented CDL Shuttle Driver to join our residential community transportation team. You will provide comfortable, on-time shuttle services for our residents along a designated local route. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a spotless driving record, and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional resident services.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a commercial shuttle bus or passenger van along predetermined routes, adhering strictly to all local traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety guidelines.
- Greet residents in a welcoming manner. Safely assist passengers with boarding and deboarding, which may include operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.
- Follow a fixed daily schedule, monitoring traffic and weather conditions to ensure reliable and punctual pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking brakes, lights, fluid levels, and tires) and submit daily maintenance reports.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the shuttle’s interior (sweeping, wiping down surfaces) and ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready for the next shift.
- Assist residents with loading and unloading groceries, luggage, or packages, and provide information about shuttle schedules, local area amenities, or transit connections.
- Immediately report any mechanical issues, accidents, or passenger incidents to management and dispatch.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – typically Class B or C, depending on vehicle seating capacity. A valid Passenger (P) endorsement is strongly preferred.
- Valid, unexpired DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience with a safe driving record.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major moving violations, DUIs, or at-fault accidents within the past 3 years.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, and occasionally lift/carry or push items up to 50 lbs (such as luggage or groceries).
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to provide polite and helpful assistance to a diverse group of residents.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screening.
