About the role
BiRite Foodservice Distributors is a third-generation, family-owned company offering a complete foodservice solution in the greater Bay Area and Sacramento. The Shuttle Driver safely and efficiently delivers trailers to resident yards, loads and unloads product, and follows DOT and company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Drive tractor/trailer, adhering to all commercial driving regulations.
- Maintain ELD log books according to Department of Transportation regulations.
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor/trailer, and complete the vehicle inspection report.
- Ensure shuttle of correct trailers to correct designated resident yards.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns at the driver check-in area, following BiRite’s Driver Check-In procedures.
- Secure assigned invoices with the proper trailer.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid California Class A Commercial Driver License with Doubles Endorsement.
- Clean DMV record; must be able to submit a current 5-year DMV driving record.
- Must create a profile at fmcsa.dot.gov (DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse).
- Employment offer contingent upon passing a drug screen, background check, and Clearinghouse check.
- 3 years of commercial Class A driving experience preferred.
- Food delivery experience highly desired.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use lift gate, dollies/hand truck, scanners, and navigation systems.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, squat, turn/twist body, push and/or pull, stand, kneel, and walk.
Pay
$32.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
Sunday to Thursday, 5:00 pm to 2:00 am. Work hours subject to change based on operational needs.
