Shuttle Driver - 1pm-7:30pm
About the Role
Operates shuttle bus and/or passenger coach-type vehicles to safely transport passengers to various destinations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Follows scheduled shuttle routes prepared by the Manager, Supervisor, and/or Dispatcher. Reports to the Supervisor of Transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, courteous, and professional service to passengers while en route to/from destinations.
- Follow established routes and departure times; communicate with dispatch for guidance on any detours/delays.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham Fleet Safety Program Policies and Procedures, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintain an accurate log documenting the number of passengers, trips completed, mileage, interior/exterior vehicle inspection, and other requested information.
- Ensure adherence to passenger limits, both seated and standing.
- Assist passengers with disabilities and others needing assistance to board and disembark from the vehicle via the wheelchair lift.
- Report any emergencies/concerns with the vehicle and/or passengers immediately to the Supervisor and/or Dispatcher.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred (experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
- Proven experience as a shuttle bus driver (1-2 years required).
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements (Massachusetts Department of Transportation Registry of Motor Vehicles required).
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card from Occupational Health.
- Excellent driving skills for shuttle buses and coach-type vehicles with the ability to navigate various road and weather conditions safely.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail in record-keeping.
- MGH Security RMV Check/Mass General Brigham Internal Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report required.
Schedule
- 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
- Rotating shift.
Pay
Pay range: $18.58 - $26.58 per hour (Grade 3). Base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors.
