Shower Aide CNA

About the Role

The primary purpose of the position is to provide assigned residents with quality routine daily nursing care in accordance with current regulations, established nursing procedures, and as directed by supervisors while delivering on the company core values of wellness, compassion, experience, and results.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all policies, performing duties in a timely fashion and within prescribed sequences and schedules.
• Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision and assist with other tasks as needed.
• Respect resident rights, including confidentiality of care information.
• Follow safety precautions, report hazardous conditions, and maintain a cooperative and respectful demeanor with other departments.
• Participate in government agency surveys and maintain professionalism at all times.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility.
• Bathe residents according to schedule, change bed linens, and clean shower/tub rooms.
• Make regular rounds to ensure residents are safe, clean, and comfortable.
• Respect resident privacy and safeguard their belongings (e.g., hearing aids, glasses, dentures).
• Escort residents to activities, assist with meals, and document meal intake.
• Perform restorative and rehabilitative tasks, such as turning bedfast residents, exercises, and ambulation.
• Report any changes in resident condition (e.g., skin issues, behavior changes) to the Charge Nurse.
• Accurately document duties, including meal intake, vital signs, weights, ADLs, and bowel movements.
• Use proper body mechanics and maintain equipment (e.g., lifts, gait belts).
• Complete ADLs according to resident care plans and wear proper uniform (scrubs, name tag, gait belt).
• Handle laundry, ensuring resident clothing is marked and returned; manage soiled linens appropriately.
• Keep resident rooms and work areas clean, orderly, and disinfected.
• Answer call lights promptly and represent Eduro Healthcare professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.

Requirements

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) as required by state and federal law; Aides in Training must obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
• Previous experience as a CNA and experience with geriatric residents is preferred and may be required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic documents in English; bilingual skills are welcome.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to sit, walk, run, lift, and carry in excess of 40 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, climb, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, grasp, and reach arms above head.
• Ability to rapidly assist in evacuating residents during emergencies.
• Must cope with mental and emotional stress of working with geriatric residents and emergency situations.
• Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and smell to ensure resident comfort, dignity, health, and safety.
• Must operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, Hoyer lifts, thermometers, and gait belts.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
