About the role
Join Burlington Stores, Inc. as a Shortage Control Lead and play a key role in mitigating theft and fraud in high-shortage areas while fostering a safe and secure store environment. You will engage with customers and associates in alignment with company core values, support store leadership in training and development, and drive shortage education and awareness. Your expertise in shortage reduction programs will help reduce theft and fraud through confident leadership and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Provide an effective deterrent to dishonest behaviors by demonstrating a command presence, adhering to dress code (company-issued vest and earpiece), maintaining a positive demeanor, and delivering energetic greetings.
- Maintain a safe and secure store environment through strong attention to detail, multitasking, clear communication, and collaboration with store leadership.
- Engage positively and respectfully with customers and associates in high-risk shortage areas to promote a strong impression of control and best-in-class customer service.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs designed to identify and reduce theft.
- Gather and document indicators of external theft, share findings with store and field leaders, and collaborate with local law enforcement to address organized retail crime or repeat incidents.
- Support internal controls and operational oversight, including conducting associate package/bag checks, monitoring point-of-sale transactions, performing store audits, and promoting Asset Protection programs.
- Assist store leadership in onboarding and ongoing training for shortage reduction programs and processes.
- Support the preparation and execution of the semi-annual inventory process and develop action plans to reduce shortage.
- Role-model safety-first behaviors and address unsafe practices proactively.
- Manage stressful situations with discipline and professionalism.
Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay
Base pay: $16 per hour.
Location: Dedham, MA (Store #01179). Position type: Regular Full-Time.
