About the role

CERGE leads the World Bank Group’s global engagement with civil society, faith-based organizations, academia, youth, think tanks, emerging stakeholders, and WBG alumni. To strengthen engagement systems, improve institutional coordination, and operationalize constituency strategies, CERGE seeks a Short-Term Consultant (STC) to provide strategic, analytical, and operational support across its thought leadership portfolio, with a particular focus on academia, think tanks, and Front Office priorities.

Responsibilities

The STC will provide support in the following areas:

  • Develop systems, tools, and processes to expand stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking across thought leadership constituencies, especially think tanks and academia.
  • Build processes to improve stakeholder intelligence gathering and risk management, in coordination with relevant CER offices.
  • Support the integration of IFC and MIGA stakeholder engagement into CERGE's constituency work.
  • Provide strategic and analytical support to the Thought Leadership team, Manager, Director, and Front Office on thought leadership trends and institutional priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The STC will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Design and standardize stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking templates, including CRM.
  • Work across vertical and regional teams to identify successful engagement models, gaps, and strategic opportunities and partners.
  • Create processes for capturing institutional memory and analytical insights, highlighting priority relationships, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop a proof of concept for a dashboard to integrate stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking with CRM and Meltwater that can be implemented internally, partnering with ITS and other colleagues.
  • Monitor thought leadership developments and provide intelligence on relevant institutions, networks, and opinion leaders.
  • Produce bi-weekly thought leadership insights emails for the Director.
  • Produce spot reports on topics of senior leadership interest, analyzing thought leadership reactions.
  • Map relevant IFC and MIGA stakeholder engagement activities and identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Coordinate information sharing across teams to strengthen alignment.
  • Produce regular analyses of emerging engagement opportunities, partner developments, and institutional risks.
  • Produce rapid analytical briefs on emerging external engagement issues.
  • Synthesize cross-cutting risks and opportunities to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Draft strategic papers, concept notes, presentations, and briefing materials.
  • Prepare talking points and background notes for senior leadership engagements.
  • Support preparation for major events, including Spring Meetings, Annual Meetings, UNGA, and other high-level convenings.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience; minimum of eight (8) years of experience in external engagement, partnerships, or thought leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience building stakeholder engagement frameworks.
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with World Bank Group operations and partnership models.
  • Ability to use AI and CRM for institutional memory.

Terms of the contract

This is a short-term consultant (STC) assignment for 60 days, the STC will work with Thought Leadership Lead, collaborates closely with constituency leads and relevant internal counterparts and report to Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Unit.
