Short Order Cook/Retail Service Dining Services
Seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Short Order Cook/Retail Dining Services employee to join our Dining Services team.
About the role
This position involves preparing, cooking, serving, and cleaning work and dining areas. Responsibilities include greeting guests, checking IDs, selling guest tickets, and completing sales on the POS system. Additional duties include stocking items for sale or service, cleaning the dining room, refrigerators, freezers, and all equipment used. Special assignments may include dish room and special event/catering responsibilities. Must be comfortable using kitchen tools, cleaning equipment, and following safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food in a short-order environment
- Serve guests and complete sales on the POS system
- Greet guests and check IDs as required
- Stock items for sale or service
- Clean dining areas, refrigerators, freezers, and kitchen equipment
- Assist with dish room duties and special event/catering responsibilities
- Follow safety protocols and use kitchen/cleaning tools properly
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic math and reading comprehension
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with appropriate equipment and assistance
- SERV Safe Food Handler/HACCP Certified within one year of employment
- Willingness to attend training and work weekends/overtime as needed

Pay
$20.72/hour per union contract; additional pay depending on assigned shift
Schedule
40 hours per week (Academic Work Schedule):
- Saturday: 5:00pm - 1:30am
- Sunday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
- Monday: off
- Tuesday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
- Wednesday: off
- Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
- Saturday: 5:00pm - 1:30am
