About Us

Excel Dictionary is an online social media platform that teaches over 9 million people Excel tips. We're growing our short-form video presence, and we're looking for a video editor who can bring energy and polish to a new content format. This isn't your typical talking-head content — you'll be cutting together a mix of on-camera segments, Excel screen recordings, and fun, fast-paced moments, all centered on practical Excel and AI tips.

About the Role

Part-time / Freelance (contract) position, remote. You’ll produce a few short-form videos per week.

Responsibilities

• Edit a few short-form videos per week (TikTok / Reels / Shorts format)
• Blend on-camera footage with Excel screen recordings into a cohesive, watchable piece
• Add captions, motion graphics, sound design, and pacing that keeps viewers hooked
• Highlight key Excel and AI tips visually (callouts, zooms, cursor emphasis, etc.)
• Collaborate with the content team on format, hooks, and creative direction
• Keep a consistent, recognizable style across episodes while staying fresh

Requirements

• Proven experience editing short-form video (portfolio or reel required)
• Comfort editing both live-action and screen-recorded content in the same piece
• Strong sense of pacing, hooks, and what makes short-form content stop the scroll
• Proficiency in an editing tool such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with Excel, spreadsheets, or "productivity tips" content
• Experience with motion graphics / basic animation (After Effects or similar)
