About the Role
As a Shop Mechanic, you will work on all makes and models of agriculture equipment in the shop ensuring equipment repairs are done accurately and timely. Your responsibilities include analyzing and diagnosing malfunctions, repairing, replacing, or rebuilding various components, and assisting with pre-delivery setup and installation on John Deere equipment and allied products.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and diagnose malfunctions in small engines and agricultural equipment
- Repair, replace, or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and air systems
- Aid in pre-delivery setup and installation of John Deere equipment and allied products
Requirements
- 2 or more years of working knowledge of small engines and agricultural equipment
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, and air conditioning systems
- A team-oriented personality with focus and drive to work independently
- Basic computer knowledge
- Self-motivation and assertiveness
- Must provide own tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
