Job Summary
The Shop Technician at EMCO, an AFC Industries Company, plays a crucial role in assembling industrial electrical control cabinets and mechanical sub-assemblies. They must also be proficient in building hydraulic and pneumatic panels and assemblies. Key responsibilities include following schematics, troubleshooting, inspecting completed orders, and maintaining shop tools.
Role and Responsibilities
- Follow electrical and hydraulic schematics / drawings to assemble industrial electrical panels and hydraulic power units
- Layout wireway, din rail & components in accordance with drawings
- Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
- Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards
- Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, & Instrumentation
- Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
- Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
- Problem-solve technical issues
- Inspect orders when they are complete
- Maintain shop tools and supplies and perform other duties as assigned or as needed

Qualifications
- 1-3 years of electrical control panel assembly and/or hydraulic experience preferred
- Strong background in Point to Point and Functional Testing a plus
- Ability to understand and work from technical schematics
- Have or Learn Basic computer skills: MS Office, ERP, Scheduling Tools
- High School Graduate or equivalent - related Technical Degree a plus
