Shop Support Specialist
About the role
Join U-Haul as a Shop Helper and build your career with hands-on technical skills. No previous experience is required—this role provides support to repair shop personnel, offering opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities
- Use specialized equipment to dismount, balance, and mount tires
- Maintain and recycle batteries
- Maintain a clean work area
- Use machinery to turn brake rotors and drums
- Rebuild trailer components including brake systems and equalizers
- Assist shop personnel
- Lend assistance in additional areas as directed by supervisors
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
- Forklift certification
Work Environment
The role involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (e.g., masks, goggles, gloves, or shields) may be required.
Physical Demands
The work requires physical exertion, including long periods indoors and outdoors while stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted).
