Job Summary

TEN – Transportation Equipment Network is seeking an experienced Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations in our fast-paced trailer maintenance and repair facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in trailer maintenance, fleet repair, welding, fabrication, diagnostics, and shop leadership.

About the Role

This is a safety-sensitive position where you will oversee shop workflow, coordinate trailer repair activities, mentor technicians, ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company procedures, and help drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Review and prioritize work orders in partnership with the Service Manager and Assistant Service Manager.
  • Cook up and assign repair work to trailer technicians to maximize productivity and minimize customer downtime.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support technicians at all skill levels, including A, B, C, and Trainee Technicians.
  • Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with company SOPs.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed according to DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to identify daily parts needs and order specialty components as needed.
  • Manage shop equipment, including preventative maintenance, repair coordination, and purchasing recommendations.
  • Train, coach, and develop trailer technicians to improve skill levels and performance.
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of trailer maintenance and repair experience.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory, lead technician, or shop leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in a transportation, fleet maintenance, trailer repair, or service shop environment strongly preferred.
  • Must be available for 2nd shift.
  • Associate degree in a technical, mechanical, or related field preferred.
  • Technical certifications, vocational training, or industry-related credentials preferred.
  • Previous experience leading trailer technicians, diesel technicians, or maintenance personnel preferred.
