Shop Project Manager

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Project Manager to join our shop fabrication team in the DMV area. This in-field position supports planning and execution of prefabricated assemblies, including piping racks, spools, skids, mechanical room assemblies, and other engineered fabrication solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain company material standards for pipe, valves, fittings, hangers, and related systems.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure fabrication readiness.
- Coordinate pipe, valve, and fitting submittals and material buyout activities with project teams and vendors.
- Monitor material availability, identify long-lead items, and communicate procurement risks.
- Collaborate with preconstruction teams to evaluate prefabrication opportunities and capacity requirements for upcoming work.
- Support planning and execution of prefabricated assemblies.
- Coordinate with BIM/detailing, project management, purchasing, and field operations to support efficient project execution.
- Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives within fabrication operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mechanical construction project management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and traverse different types of terrain and elevations.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from different levels.
- Data center project experience preferred.

Pay
Salary Range: $100,000 - $155,000.
