Shop Leader Mechanic

About the role

Harrisburg Division, a division of the H&K Group, Inc., seeks a Shop Leader/Mechanic to oversee mechanics in the repair and servicing of various industrial trucks and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Perform repairs, services, inspections, and DVIR
• Assign tasks to mechanics
• Direct workers in maintenance and repair of trucks and equipment
• Communicate with supervisors and operations personnel regarding unscheduled repairs
• Maintain requisitions and supply of spare parts
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, non-bias shop
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations
• Provide reliable, cost-effective repairs
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR two years of related experience
• Two years of supervisory experience
• Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
• Clean driving record
• State Inspection License
• Four years of related experience and/or training
• Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
• OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications

• Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Work in high, precarious places
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, wet/humid conditions, outside weather including extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, noise level is usually moderate

Pay

Pay Range $18-$35 an hour. Pay is depending on skill set.
