Shop Laborer/Parts Runner supporting the Mechanic Shop in Hillman, MI. Responsibilities include picking up and delivering parts, maintaining shop cleanliness, organizing parts and inventory, and assisting mechanics as needed.
Responsibilities
- Drive parts to and from stores or other needed locations
- Stock oils and other consumables
- Clean the shop area and organize the yard
- Assist mechanics when needed and organize the parts room
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license with a chauffeur’s license or ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of hire
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Clean driving record for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Experience in a mechanic shop, welding, or paint shop environment a plus
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Willingness to work overtime if needed
- Ability to work long hours and perform repetitive movements
- Good work ethic, punctuality, and alertness
- Ability to repetitively lift 50 or more pounds at a time
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment, machines, and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
