Shop Helper (Fabrication)

Responsibilities

• Cut material in preparation for fabrication or processing
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers, power chippers, portable grinders, or arc‑cutting equipment
• Assist machine operators (press brake, punch press, laser) with loading and unloading items from the machines
• Assist welders with structural welds by holding materials in place
• Transfer raw materials, finished products, tools, or equipment between work areas on the production floor using powered equipment (e.g., forklifts)
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Complete other related duties as assigned

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a related field
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and safety management
• Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds at a time
• Willingness to wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection) while on the production floor
