Shop Foreperson

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, lead, and control the flow of service work through the workshop.
• Ensure quality repairs at a fair cost to the customer.
• Pursue excellence and quality that symbolizes the Mercedes-Benz brand.
• Provide a consistently outstanding brand and customer experience.
• Lead the technician group through example and encouragement.
• Review CDK to ensure technicians are punching on repair orders properly and moving through work.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in Mercedes-Benz models.
• Review and analyze technician production performance daily, including running and correcting issues.
• Interact with customers, explain repair work, go for road tests, and answer customer questions about their vehicles.
• Mentor and teach technician trainees, interns, and line technicians.
• Monitor and review technician behavior and discipline when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure technicians keep their areas clean and safe.
• Able to commute into and out of Manhattan/New York City daily.
• Dispatch work out to the shop.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with post-secondary technical training.
• 7+ years of experience in vehicle repair.
• Valid NYS inspection license.
• Able to work Saturdays and Holidays, when necessary.
• Physical requirements of the position met.
• Valid Drivers’ License.
