About the role

Loenbro is looking for experienced fabricators/welders to join our Dickinson Fab Shop team. We seek hardworking professionals who enjoy meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a background in welding to complete jobs on time and on budget. This position involves planning, laying out, welding, installing, evaluating, and repairing all types of steel structures in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial oil refining piping and associated structures.
• Supervise and train fitter/welder helpers.
• Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications; plan, lay out, install, and/or repair all types of pipe accordingly.
• Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures; take corrective actions as needed.
• Choose appropriate filler metals and construction materials to complete assignments.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of fitting/welding principles experience.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Welding experience in construction, mining, or related industry, or a two-year vocational-technical degree.
• Working knowledge of various welding codes and specifications.
• Familiarity with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
• Proficiency in SMAW and FCAW welding processes.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.

• Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
• Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
