Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and production schedules.
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements and material specifications.
- Independently operate fabrication equipment, including shears, press brakes, rollers, ironworkers, and welding equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Measure, mark, cut, form, and prepare metal materials with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform layout work and material preparation to support fabrication and assembly processes.
- Inspect completed components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Assist with setup, adjustment, and routine maintenance of fabrication equipment and tools.
- Support and provide guidance to entry-level fabricators and shop helpers as needed.
- Maintain production schedules by effectively managing workload and prioritizing tasks.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements while promoting a culture of workplace safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and shop operations as required.
- Collaborate with supervisors, fabricators, and production teams to ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-5 years of sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, or manufacturing experience required.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and measuring instruments.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, ironworkers, and welding equipment.
- Working knowledge of fabrication techniques, material properties, and shop safety practices.
- Ability to accurately read tape measures, perform basic shop mathematics, and maintain dimensional tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding work in a manufacturing environment.
