Shop Crane Tech Trainee
About the role
The Shop Crane Tech Trainee position is located at the Denver, CO branch of MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager. Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service, and be eligible for the Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify.
Responsibilities
- Assists the shop with various assigned duties to learn the responsibilities of a Shop Crane Technician.
- Helps shop techs perform inspections and repairs.
- Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience as a general laborer or yard worker within the construction or heavy equipment industry is preferred.
- Mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics is necessary.
- A self-starter with the initiative to advance is required.
- The ability and desire to provide excellent customer service is essential.
- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- May be required to travel to other locations for cross-training.

Working Conditions
- This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

Pay & Training
- This position offers a pay range between $21.00 - $31.00 per hour depending on skills and qualifications for non-bargaining employees.
- Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis and there are 14 days in the pay period, beginning on a Monday and ending on a Sunday.
- A customized training plan and career path is identified for each trainee and provided within the first week of employment, outlining growth and advancement opportunities.
