About the role
This position provides hands-on support for the Greenfield, Indiana Yard and Shop, as well as job-site-specific needs. The role requires mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn under the direction of a shop superintendent or field superintendent, depending on assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks.
- Distribute received materials from job sites to designated storage locations.
- Use independent judgment to maximize utilization of materials and equipment.
- Inventory and report on company tools and equipment entering or leaving the yard.
- Clean and recondition tools, trailers, and equipment returned to the yard.
- Perform minor repairs or maintenance on medium-sized tools (e.g., small pumps, small generators).
- Inspect and route equipment or tools needing removal from service.
- Complete job-site assignments under direct supervision (e.g., pre-assembly of piping systems, building access stairs, constructing light wood formwork).
- Travel to job sites for assistance as needed.
- Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard area.
- Assist with office renovation projects.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation.
- Must be at least 18 years old prior to the start date.
- Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch.
- Some overtime may be required.
Skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft applications and Viewpoint Software.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across diverse groups.
Training and Growth
