Shop Attendant

About the role

Under the supervision of the Shop Manager, the Shop Attendant will perform specific tasks associated with the cleaning of the shop and Fuel Island in our Long Beach office.

Responsibilities

• Use a floor cleaning machine to clean bay floors.
• Keep the shop and fuel island areas clear of debris and fluids.
• Keep trash cans and soiled rag cans emptied.
• Place empty aerosol cans in provided bins for proper disposal.
• Keep drain oil pans emptied into used oil tank and returned to storage area.
• Ensure that all labels for hazardous waste containers are visible and properly completed.
• Check that all used filters are drained and stored in provided used filter barrels.
• Drain all used oil container barrels.
• Be self-directed and perform job functions as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Possess good communication skills – oral & written.
• Able to work well with co-workers, vendors, and customers.
• Physically able to use tools needed to perform daily tasks, lift at least 50 lbs, work in a changing environment, and perform duties in a safe manner.
• Operate a 5K forklift (the company will certify you).

Physical Demands

• Physically able to perform tasks described, lift at least 50 lbs, and work safely.
• Use hands to handle equipment, arms, legs, and back to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, sweeping, and mopping.
• Work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year.
• Prolonged periods of working, standing, sitting, and driving.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Pay

$21.01 per hour
