Shipyard Lead Person

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee production work on customer equipment, ensuring that:
  • Production workers are focused and productive at their assigned duties
  • All work meets appropriate quality requirements
  • Safety procedures and policies are followed
  • Hours and costs are recorded accurately
  • Work is planned with care so that customer schedule requirements are met
  • Accurate, timely, and sufficiently detailed information is communicated to management to support decision-making, including labor and resource allocation among current projects and estimates for future project bids
• Cookordination work and resources with fellow supervisors and other production team leaders so that the production operation can operate efficiently and profitably
• Interact effectively with the customer’s representatives while meeting their schedule and daily requirements
• Ensure that the correct materials are ordered and delivered on a timely basis
• Provide other support as needed by the shipyard supervisor and other managers
• Maintain a clean and safe shipyard, and foster a well-trained and motivated staff

Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ production experience
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience
• Valid driver’s license
• TWIC (if required)
• Learn safety rules and become familiar with proper usage of safety equipment
• Comply with all Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations and Procedures at all times under the direction of Stevens Towing Company, Inc.’s safety policies
