Shipping Team Lead - 2nd Shift

NORD Gear is seeking a motivated and experienced 2nd Shift Shipping Team Lead to join our team! Enjoy a consistent 4-day workweek and a 3-day weekend! This position works Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM, giving you every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. The Shipping Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the Shipping Department. This role ensures that standard work procedures are followed by all team members, production goals are met, and work quality is maintained. The Team Lead is also responsible for training shippers and painters and promoting continuous improvement within the shipping department.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates employee efforts to identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Monitors team performance to ensure compliance with standardized work procedures and leads daily accountability meetings to drive alignment, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Monitors the quality of completed tasks to ensure compliance with production and quality specifications.
• Assists in training team members and ensure they receive the proper training to perform their duties safely and effectively.
• Evaluates work performed by team members to identify process improvement opportunities and communicates performance observations to the Shipping Supervisor.
• Monitors and maintains visual controls to support production targets and workflow efficiency.
• Promotes a culture of safety by ensuring team compliance with all established safety policies and procedures.
• Assists the Shipping Supervisor in driving team performance and meeting established company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training strongly preferred. Completion of leadership training is also preferred.
• Three years of production experience required, with a preference for candidates who have shipping and leadership experience.
