Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shipping, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop shipping and warehouse team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
- Ensure all customer orders are picked, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
- Cook up with production, planning, and transportation teams to optimize product flow and minimize delays.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation processes.
- Verify proper product rotation using FIFO/FEFO inventory practices.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, SQF/BRC, GMP, and company food safety requirements.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce safe work practices.
- Review shipping documentation, bills of lading, manifests, and regulatory records for accuracy.
- Manage refrigerated and frozen storage operations while maintaining temperature control standards.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, and customer service issues.
- Monitor labor utilization and overtime while meeting departmental performance goals.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure material handling equipment remains operational.
- Track and report departmental KPIs including: On-time shipments, Order accuracy, Inventory accuracy, Labor efficiency, Safety performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in shipping, warehousing, or logistics operations.
- 1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing, poultry processing, meat processing, or cold storage environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
