Shipping & Receiving Specialist

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Specialist in the North Charleston, SC area to support our fast-growing Security division. We welcome veterans and prioritize both work and enjoyment.

About the role

As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you will support the shipment and receipt of goods, maintain inventory, and ensure smooth operations in our fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify issues.
• Operate lift trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or hand trucks to move materials to proper departments or areas.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Perform computer functions to track goods, update inventories, and generate documents.
• Support the shipment of produced goods and receipt of supplies for production/storage.
• Resolve material needs and inventory control issues as they arise.
• Facilitate fulfillment orders by gathering materials or inventory.
• Make pickups and deliveries to suppliers using a company van, as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following proper safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Shipping and Receiving.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The role is primarily indoors and requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle tools or controls. You will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and maintain near vision for reading and computer use.

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
