Shipping / Receiving Forklift Operator

About the role

Backyard Products, a company with over 40 years of experience, is seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join the Shipping & Receiving team. The role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations, timely order fulfillment, and supporting production teams.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and stage materials
• Receive inbound shipments and verify quantities and product accuracy
• Prepare and stage outbound orders for shipping
• Supply production areas with materials as needed
• Perform daily forklift inspections and complete required documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow safety procedures and support a culture of accountability
• Absorb and assist with manual material handling and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

Requirements

• Reliable: strong attendance and dependability are essential
• Safety-minded: with strong awareness of surroundings
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Able to work independently while supporting team goals
• Experienced operating forklifts or willing to train and get certified
• Detail-oriented when checking shipments and inventory
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive movement
• Equipped with steel/composite toe footwear (required)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Experience operating forklifts or willingness to train and get certified
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive movement

Pay & Schedule

• $16.50 - $18.00 per hour depending on experience
• Monday – Friday, 6:00a – 4:30p
