About the role
Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages activities in the Shipping and Receiving Office and serves as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing drivers. The Clerk completes paperwork, maintains schedules, ensures document accuracy, and provides necessary information both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Sign drivers in and out of the facility, verifying all necessary paperwork.
- Assign dock doors for inbound and outbound loads.
- Maintain accuracy in door assignments and update the yard report for trailer inventory.
- Process Bills of Lading along with other shipping and receiving documents.
- Reconcile inbound shipments with packing slips and coordinate drop lot activities.
- Coordinate yard movements with the spotter/yard jockey.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Maintain and manage inbound and outbound schedules.
- Collaborate closely with shift management and leads to accomplish daily shift goals.
- Report any errors or issues to the appropriate leadership member to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is used effectively and safely.
- Perform safety inspections and audits as required.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in inbound/outbound logistics, warehousing, or distribution center (DC) operations.
- Previous experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Food & Beverage industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with computer ordering systems and other IT-related systems.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are considered an advantage.
- Physically able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Capable of regularly lifting, moving, and placing up to 25 pounds of inventory and/or advertising displays as needed.
- Willing to work in environments involving moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- Responsible for ensuring overall safety and the safe operation of motor vehicles.
- Committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
Schedule
Shift Rotation- Weekend Nights:
- Week 1: Friday – Sunday 5pm – 5:30am
- Week 2: Thursday – Sunday 5pm – 5:30am
Pay
The compensation for this position includes a base pay of $23.00 per hour with a $3.00 shift differential, plus a 5% target quarterly bonus.
