About the Role

Penske Logistics is looking for shipping and receiving clerks to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment. Responsible for shipping and receiving procedures. Responsible for ensuring that the paperwork for all shipments leaving the distribution center is complete and accurate. You will utilize various systems and frequently interact with warehouse personnel and carriers. This is a new operation located in Groveport.

Work Schedule

  • 1st Shift - Monday-Saturday - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift - Monday-Saturday - 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM

Compensation

  • 1st Shift - $21.00 per hour
  • 2nd Shift - $21.00 + $1.00 per hour shift incentive

Responsibilities

  • Various office and administrative duties, which may include handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining database and miscellaneous reporting
  • Reporting, maintain of files, customer service interaction, resolution of pallet tracking
  • Involve Safety team as required by location
  • Processing Inbound and Outbound shipments in the warehouse
  • Control the flow of work to meet departure and receiving times
  • Resolve discrepancies
  • Interact with warehouse associates and trouble shoot issues
  • Assist with daily and weekly reports
  • Jointly work with Supervisors and Management to meet warehouse metrics
  • Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years of general office experience required
  • 1 year of shipping/receiving experience preferred
  • 1 year of customer service experience required
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
  • AS400 experience preferred
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information; and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to stand, walk, and sit
  • Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
