When will I work?

Primary Schedule: 5/8s Evening Shift – The primary work hours for this position are 12:00pm to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime required as needed. This schedule also includes a $2.00/Hr. shift increment.

Where is this opportunity located?

Position located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in our Repair Center & Materials department.

What will the work look like for me?

Learn Daktronics products, systems, processes, and flow through Daktronics. This will include learning both the Service System Software and the Factory ERP System. Pull parts to fill work orders. Flexibility to work in all manufacturing departments. Must learn all Inventory tasks including receipt of customer parts, receipt of factory parts, staging of un-repaired items, staging of spare parts and repair parts inventory, material handling, material delivery routes, Pull/Pack/Ship processes for small orders, and Pull/Pack/Ship processes for freight. Correctly follow written instructions. Accurately record work done. Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner, including repetitive tasks. Learn new tasks and accurately perform these tasks as assigned. Safely and responsibly use tools and adhere to safe lifting practices. Perform other duties as needed to meet internal and external customer requests.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Required to work overtime when overtime shifts are scheduled.
  • Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and successfully participate as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
  • Frequently lift 35 lbs.
  • Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.
  • Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.
  • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
  • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.
  • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
  • Identify wire and paint colors.
  • Read fine print.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.

Desired Traits

  • Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, inventory, or materials management preferred but not required.
  • The understanding of materials flow in a manufacturing environment also preferred but not required.
  • Basic computers skills preferred but not required.
