Responsibilities

  • Allocates the workforce based on order flow. Ensures both grocery and perishable trips are synced; alerting supervisor to make staff movements to maintain on time deliveries
  • Makes sure leave times are recognized and addresses issues concerning loads, contacting selectors to provide solutions, and ensuring loads are completed
  • Collaborates with supervisor to address workflow problems and determine solutions
  • Prints tickets and verifies correct orders; determines immediate needs versus tickets pulled for later selection based on current cases per hour and leave times. Notes specific instructions with loads or products; recognizing concerns and prioritizing
  • Maintains progress of direct and labeled tickets throughout the shift, and adjusts order of tickets if necessary; identifies difficult tickets to pick early to avoid potential overtime
  • Handles Fast 9 orders: releases work, prints tickets, and provides to selectors for delivery to specific internal locations; matches and codes handbills with signatures
  • Maintains oversight of Souto Foods and specialty loads, prioritizing with seasoned selectors and ensuring instructions are followed
  • Sets up selectors for flowers, bananas, eggs, and nuts due to their delicacy and requirements; assigns selectors to appropriate tickets based on size and commodity
  • Identifies new selectors and third-party workers to ensure appropriate tickets are provided
  • Manages selectors' time between direct and indirect tasks, determining the amount of time to add to their production
  • Ensures tickets are closed and proper indirect codes are used to allow supervisors to track movement and accurate productivity totals
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues such as scanners and T2s, accounting for missing equipment at shift end
  • Researches 'scratches' including checking pallets, inventory, selector voice activity - if needed, communicates with dispatch to remove items and avoid potential credits at delivery
  • Communicates with lifts for let downs as needed, providing missing pallet numbers
  • Monitors selectors' progress on tickets, monitors their breaks and lunches to determine discrepancies
  • Provides handbills for Estes and Old Dominion drivers and instructions on pallets, doors, and product return
  • Provides reporting to Ops team on weekly selection totals, production reporting to supervisors daily
  • Maintains new hire folders containing production percentages, total cases selected, and weekly goals

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in all warehouse environments
  • Self-starter that needs minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Beginner to intermediate level Excel and Word proficiency
