Shipping Operator

Job Summary

The Shipping Operator position at Hexcel's Casa Grande, AZ, USA location is available for individuals interested in joining the company's strong investment in research and development and its culture of continuous improvement. This role involves packaging finished product in compliance with manufacturing and customer specifications, using various tools and equipment, and ensuring packaging meets customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Packages finished product in compliance with manufacturing and customer specifications.
• Makes crates, pallets, and boxes for shipping honeycomb products to customers.
• Determines if existing product needs to be palleted or crated.
• Selects finished products to be packed based on due date lists and sales order information.
• Determines proper packaging methods based on sales order information.
• Verifies quantity and dimensions of finished product have been checked and signed-off by production.
• Moves material with forklift and uses hand tools, power saws, and air-powered equipment to construct boxes, crates, and pack product.
• Orders lumber, cardboard replenishments, and other packing material and work supplies.
• Must be able to read and understand routers, job copies, and sales orders.
• Inputs and receives information from a computer to log out test pieces, print sales orders and labels.
• Ensures that packaging meets customer specifications and expectations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience required, preferably in manufacturing.
• Minimum of six months manufacturing experience in the Hexcel Casa Grande facility may substitute in lieu of one year experience.
• Previous Hexcel experience preferred.
• Proficient in use of tape measure and ruler.
• Basic working knowledge of computer data entry function preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Benefits

Start rate: $25.00 Per Hour during the New Hire Orientation Period – normally 90 calendar days, then increases to $27.31 Per Hour. This position is on Swing shift (3:00PM to 11:00PM, Monday – Friday + O/T as required).

Pay

This position pays a $1.75 per hour shift premium.
