Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of department or business unit and assigned staff
• Strive to provide world-class service to internal and external customers with respect to fill rates and on-time deliveries
• Supervise associate performance through performance planning, coaching, appraisal, and disciplinary efforts
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing of all new and existing associates
• Work with all applicable departments to ensure efficient and accurate flow of inventory in and out of the shipping department
• Communicate and administer disciplinary action to associates who violate company policy
• Communicate with appropriate individuals/departments during the shift that may affect other warehouse departments
• Efficiently lead associates of the department toward attaining their individual and combined goals through hands-on guidance
• Provide project/task leadership as assigned
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with established standards in the areas of accuracy, safety, and productivity
• Aggressively pursue waste and inefficiencies in their operation
• Target potential improvements and work with teams to improve working environment and product throughput

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent
• Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable
• 3+ years of distribution warehouse experience
• Familiarity with a distribution environment
• Basic understanding of business financial reports and information

Preferred Requirements

• Ability to supervise or manage multiple tasks and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate and complete required record-keeping functions
• Ability to articulate and align associates with department and business goals
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
