Responsibilities

  • Unloading Chemicals/Filler:
    • Weigh loads prior to unloading.
    • Ensure contents fit into designated storage tanks.
    • Connect hoses between trailer and plant piping.
    • Take samples to QC for verification.
    • After unloading, remove hoses, flush pumps, and clean the area.
  • Inbound Trucks:
    • Secure trailer at dock and unload rolls.
    • Scan each roll during unloading and before storage.
    • Inspect product quality and report damage to Shipping Manager immediately.
    • Maintain proper paperwork for all loading/unloading processes.
    • Maintain housekeeping around docks and warehouse.
  • Loading:
    • Move drop trailers to loading dock using yard truck.
    • Secure trailer at dock and verify order number/destination with driver.
    • Pull order/pick plan using computer.
    • Obtain tare weight from Shipping Manager.
    • Load rolls on cradles/blocking, maximizing shipping weight without exceeding DOT maximum.
    • Transfer pick plans/roll numbers to Shipping Manager for BOL completion.
    • Maintain housekeeping around docks and warehouse.
  • Backup Shipping Manager:
    • Use software to receive incoming raw materials and MRO supplies.
    • Communicate with Customer Service, Shipping Manager, and Freight Dispatchers about loads/preloads via email/text.
    • Send loads to TMS system and ship loads within the shipping dashboard.
    • Print bills and obtain driver signatures.
    • Scan previous day shipments to Customer Service each morning.
    • Release orders in PeopleSoft and book trucks as needed.
    • Create B/L for scrap trucks.
    • Send/print shipping documents to Guard House.
    • Answer phone calls and communicate with other Atlas loaders.
    • Verify bills have correct trailer and seal numbers.
    • Check and export raw glass delivery bills within the system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass forklift operator test and safely operate a forklift.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Some overtime as needed.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs (medium work).
  • Frequently required to:
    • Balance to maintain body equilibrium.
    • Climb (ascend/descend objects using hands/feet).
    • Crouch (bend body downward and forward by bending legs).
    • Reach (extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction).
    • Handle (seize, hold, grasp, or work with hand(s)).
    • Finger (pick, pinch, or work with fingers).
    • Feel (perceive attributes of objects via skin receptors).
    • Talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to:
    • Stoop (bend body by bending spine at the waist).
    • Kneel (bend legs to rest on one or both knees).

Environmental Working Conditions

  • Exposure to extreme cold/heat and temperature changes.
  • Frequent contact with water or other liquids (wet conditions).
  • High humidity causing bodily reactions.
  • Sufficient noise to cause distraction.
  • Atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory system.
