Responsibilities
- Assign, monitor, and delegate assignments; react to activities throughout the value stream supporting job rotations.
- Ensure Team Improvement boards, Day by Hour boards, and similar tools are completely filled out on an hourly/daily basis.
- Ensure productivity by fielding questions, confirming operators are on track, and clarifying work assignments.
- Serve as liaison between the Value Stream Team Leader and Leadership regarding work assignments and projects.
- Regularly lead Kaizen or other problem-solving events.
- Actively participate in the layered audit process, conducting daily audits.
- Ensure all team members perform and document quality checks based on department procedures.
- Delegate work assignments, maintain kiosk boards, and report on activities within the value stream.
- Perform jobs within the value stream to fill in for operators during meetings or to cover absences.
- Cross-train within multiple areas to create flexibility and understanding.
- Accountable for value stream metrics such as Safety, Quality, LISC, Scrap, and Units per Labor Hour.
- Responsible for training, including developing and maintaining team members’ Skills Matrix.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings and lead Safety Toolbox talks.
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures to eliminate health and environmental risks; report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
- Participate in peer-based teams (e.g., Natural High Performance Teams) and work with groups to implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED; additional education preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to share information in a group setting.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Good math, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills (CAR/PAR/8D).
