Shipping Forklift Driver, 1st Shift

About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to support the shipping of freight in a safe manner while minimizing damage to product to service both production and customers.
Responsibilities
- Obtain a forklift certification and follow all forklift rules and safety regulations.
- Keep all doorways, aisles, electrical panel boxes, and fire extinguishers clear at all times.
- Perform weekly forklift maintenance (blowing out) and complete daily checklist.
- Notify supervisor of any damage to forklift, material, or buildings immediately.
- Organize and maintain bays of material safely, keeping them at least 18 inches away from the wall and maintaining proper aisle ways.
- Maintain a safe and organized shipping area and warehouse per Endura 5S standards.
- Ensure all units are packaged for damage-free shipping.
- Load and unload units to the Lantech shrink wrap machine and attach cartons to skid labels using RF system.
- Transport material to truck staging areas and keep outgoing shipments organized.
- Load trucks with customer shipments, securing materials to minimize transportation damage and ensuring accurate loading.
- Safely and securely load and unload trucks.
- Generate appropriate paperwork for outbound shipments, including BOL and packing lists.
- Perform inventory transactions related to shipping.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to pass written and driving test for forklift certification.
- Preferably one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Ability to sit on a forklift for the entire shift.
- Normal or corrected hearing and vision, with manual coordination.
- Ability to climb and descend stairs as needed.
- Some walking, bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting approximately 35 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical adaptability to using forklift controls.
- Ability to withstand exposure to temperature extremes and uncomfortable sound or noise levels.
- Exposure to wood dust and aluminum with no hazardous factors present to a disagreeable extent.

Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; overtime as needed.
