Shipping Driver

About the role

A Box Truck Driver operates a commercial vehicle (typically under 26,000 lbs, often non-CDL) to transport goods, ensuring safe, timely, local or regional deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading cargo
• Securing items to prevent damage
• Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintaining logs
• Providing professional customer service
• Safely transporting, picking up, and delivering goods according to scheduled routes
• Using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor to load and unload cargo
• Performing daily inspections (fluids, tires, brakes) and reporting mechanical issues
• Keeping accurate logs, obtaining customer signatures, and recording delivery information
• Adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Previous experience driving box trucks or delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy, sometimes bulky, items
• Ability to adhere to strict delivery schedules
• Effective communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and customers
