Responsibilities

• Load and unload inbound or outbound shipments with accuracy and in a timely manner
• Assist with monthly cycle counts, accurately documenting all shipments and receipts
• Report any discrepancies in shipments or receipts
• Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
• Operate forklifts safely and perform preventive maintenance
• Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts, or injuries to Production or Yard Supervisor
• Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
• Assist with the Preventive Maintenance program as required
• Conduct visual product quality inspections
• Load the correct products on outbound shipments accurately and in a timely manner
• Unload products on inbound shipments in a timely manner
• Process customer shipments including UPS shipments
• Continually expand product knowledge
• Follow the direction of the shipping manager
• Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES

This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required, and also fulfill on-call duties for repairs and assistance. The Shipping Dock Worker/Forklift Operator reports directly to the Assistant Shipping Manager or the Shipping Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified forklift operator
• Some shipping or logistics experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
• Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in temperature extremes
• Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
• Full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
