Shipping Clerk
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately recognize material, verify count and match with shipping documents
- Recognize highlighted sales notes (Inspection Record, C of C, C of A, customer specific notations)
- Initial work instruction completion (qty. or additional paperwork requested)
- Efficiently package material and stage for shipment to customer
- Efficiently wrap or band material ready for shipment
- Effectively operate equipment such as a fork-truck, banding machine, and computer
- Recognize damage to incoming packages, pallets or containers from freight companies
- Notate incoming damages on receiving paperwork (contact supervisor if needed or Quality Manager)
- Post Sales Orders
- Add prepaid G/L amounts when needed
- Complete BOL’s for freight shipments
- Post/complete portal shipments
- Generate barcode labels in FedEx/UPS software for ground parcel shipments
- Complete international paperwork (NAFTA, Declaration, Invoice, Power of Attorney)
- Call freight carriers to schedule pickups and generate quotes when needed
- Pull material from machined stock inventory (check bin location)
- Restock additional/overrun material (Item#, WO# and qty.)
- Cut/measure cut to orders for rod
- Load freight on LTL trucks
- Provide daily shipment paperwork to office
- Run/print end of day or weekly reports for office staff
- Clean up/sweep/empty trash each day

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehouse operations and/or shipping preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills required. Knowledge of plastics industry and international shipping regulations helpful.
