Shipping Clerk

About the role

A Shipping Clerk will process outbound shipments, ensure customers and internal team receive top-notch service and on time delivery, provide visual inspection of outbound orders for accuracy, note discrepancies and escalate as appropriate, and investigate problem orders to arrive at timely resolution and meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handling aircraft parts in accordance with the Jet Midwest Quality Assurance manual
• Preparing aircraft parts for shipment
• Cleaning aircraft parts, as required
• Examining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
• Ensuring correct shipment of international orders and hazardous material orders
• May be required to train others
• Cross trained on Receiving and Cycle Count
• Become forklift certified
• Become Repair and Sales Order qualified
• Become Hazmat trained and qualified
• Performing other job duties as assigned
• Pulling, packing, and scanning orders

Requirements

• High School diploma
• Experience in Shipping or Materials Management
• The ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealings with co-workers
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Skills

• Physical demands and work environment: Seated at a desk, using a phone and computer, for much of the workday. May involve walking long distances, crouching, crawling, standing on ladders or scaffolds, using hoists and lifts, using precision instruments, and other necessary hand tools requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Safe lifting techniques should be used, and a request for assistance should be made to a co-worker or supervisor.
