Shipping Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a self-motivated and professional Shipping Clerk to join our warehouse department. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process product orders based on shipping backlog
• Keep files of goods shipped by preparing regular shipping reports for managers
• Utilize RF scanner to transfer materials from location to location
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling
• Troubleshoot shipping issues and work to solve them
• Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods
• Keep warehouse and workstations clean and neat
• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent qualification
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics roles
• Experience with freight carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL freight)
• Previous forklift experience/training
• In-depth knowledge of various warehouse machinery and equipment such as pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and forklifts

Skills and Abilities

• Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, goals and objectives for self
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, customers, and vendors
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, inventory systems)
• Familiar with shipping software and ERP systems
• Ability to prepare shipping documents (packing slips, bills of lading, invoices)
• Knowledge of domestic and or international shipping procedures

Physical Requirements

• Required to sit, talk, or hear
• Frequent hand use
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permits the employee to work in an office setting
• Ability to lift up to a maximum of 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
