Shipping Associate
Job Summary
Responsible for assembling orders and preparing goods for shipment.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities
- Ensures all shipments receive the proper labeling, postal charges, and are packaged to arrive safely.
- Prints daily sales receipts and cross-checks the computer software to ensure accuracy.
- Keeps management and supervisors aware of product shortages to maintain accurate information on the company website.
- Prepares inventory for shipment. Properly bands and shrink wraps pallets and attaches shipping labels.
- Assembles and fills boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.
- Prepares detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensures all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
- Tracks inventory and reports any shortages to sales team.
- Works with other shipping clerks to see that all invoices are handled promptly and goods are shipped and stored properly.
Nature and Scope
Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
Work Environment
Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
Education And Experience
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Pay Range
This range is determined based on market data and internal pay practices to establish a minimum and maximum value for a job. Individual base pay is determined based on a variety of elements including experience, skills, internal equity and other factors.
