About the role
This position coordinates the movement of customer materials from suppliers through our Service Center Network.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, schedules, and dispatches all service requirements from local pickups through deliveries.
- Serves as the direct liaison between dock operations and internal/external customers.
- Tracks, inputs data, and reports information to external and internal customers.
- Handles inter-company and intra-company communication.
- Works with the planning group on coordinating facility outbound volume.
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers.
- Prepares all inbound and outbound documentation.
- Performs additional clerical duties as assigned.
- Validates and verifies materials on dock, including labeling, pulling packing slips, moving boxes, and opening boxes.
- Generates reports providing Dock Coordinators with critical shipping information.
- May oversee loading activities (varies by center).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; associate degree from a two-year college or university preferred but not required.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and write in English (bilingual English/Spanish is desired in some centers).
- Knowledge of database software, internet software, inventory software, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, use hands to type, handle, or feel, and talk.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand or walk.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
- Must be able to hear to perform essential job functions.
