Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 2nd Shift

About the role

Penske Logistics is seeking shipping and receiving clerks to join an excellent team. This opportunity is ideal for safety-conscious individuals with a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipping and receiving procedures
• Ensure paperwork for all shipments leaving the distribution center is complete and accurate
• Check drivers in and out throughout the day
• Manage bills of lading (BOL’s)
• Utilize various systems and interact frequently with warehouse personnel and carriers
• Reorder supplies and research store claims
• Process inbound and outbound shipments in the warehouse
• Control the flow of work to meet departure and receiving times
• Resolve discrepancies and troubleshoot issues with warehouse associates
• Assist with daily and weekly reports
• Work with supervisors and management to meet warehouse metrics
• Prioritize workload and adjust based on position requirements
• Complete other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year of shipping/receiving experience preferred
• 1 year of customer service experience required
• Strong computer and mathematical skills required
• Good interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with warehouse workers
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain confidentiality
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
• Willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule
• Complete Penske employment application, background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information
• Must be able to see and verbally communicate
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg

Pay

$23.00 base rate plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
