Responsibilities
- Receive shipments from freight carriers and assist with loading, unloading, and processing parts.
- Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming shipments to verify information against records.
- Verify packing slips with contents of delivered parts.
- Check for damaged freight and unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages.
- Correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
- File damage claims with vendors or freight carriers.
- File copies of claims.
- Prioritize customer orders to ensure all inbound orders are handled on the same day.
- Ship and record outgoing packages.
